![]() Open this location on your hard drive: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats. OK, now that the ACR file is ready, we need to copy it to its new home. Change the name of that file to Camera Raw.8bi, and be sure to include the space, don't name it CameraRaw. That file is actually the Camera Raw Plugin. In the Assets1_1 folder you will see a single file that just says "1002" for a file name. In THAT folder you will see another zip file called "Assets1_1.zip". Inside "payloads" you will see more files and folders, especially 3 folders with names that are a mess. Open the Setup folder and then open the "payloads" folder that's inside of it. You will now have a Setup folder next to the zip file (you can delete the zip file). Just save it to the desktop because we will only be pulling a single file out of it. Download the direct installer for ACR 8.6 from this site. UPDATE 8/1: thanks Keith, link is fixed, your link is the correct Mac link): This is for windows (if you own a Mac you can download ACR 8.6 from here and hopefully you know where it lives on your drive. I did run through these instructions tonight and ACR 8.6 is happily running. So here's how to fix it, pasted in from the previous post with the pertinent file names changed. ![]() 8.6 is out, I have 8.5 and my CC app thinks all is well. I posted this a few weeks ago when the Creative Cloud app didn't detect that a new ACR was released, and it's happening again.
